The student guide to luxury lifestyle

    Luxury,    Lux¦ury,    n.
A state of great comfort or elegance, especially when involving great expense.

Being a student is being bound to a life of budgets, rules and guidelines; being in work or everyday life. However, as the imaginative, creative bunch that we are, there are certain things that us students can do to spruce up our lives and make them more bearable.

Decorate your space

An easy way to achieve luxury is to live in such. By making your accommodation more homely with throws, pictures, fairly lights and pillows, you can create an environment that you enjoy being in. I know some people that have even got beanbags in their dorm rooms. If you have enough throws and blankets, it can be useful for movie nights or roll out the yoga mat and have it as a well decorated guest bed! Going to Dunelm, Ikea, Tesco and Asda don't cause great expense and definitely make a difference!

Get on with housemates

Again with the comfort; I know people that are not exactly on best terms with their housemates this year - (you know who you are) and to say the least, I'm not in envy of that position. The best advice I can give is that; you don't have to be best friends with housemates, stay civil and stay clean, probably one of the biggest stress points is cleanliness.

Don't get caught up in deadlines

Deadlines stress everyone out. Everyone. Working on a piece bit by bit may seem tedious. However you will not be the one freaking out on your course's Facebook group chat 2 days before the deadline that you haven't even started it yet.

Save up your cash

Luxury doesn't have to come at great expense. By not spending whats left of your maintenance loan (if you have any after paying accommodation) at once, you will have a much better time at the end of the year when the bar turns out half price drinks for the end of semester clear out. It also means that any birthdays or expensive train tickets won't leave you eating into your overdraft!

#stayclassy

Lastly, the best advice that I can give; please don't get onto your university spotted or gossip page. If you're on there, or even worse; a regular visitor.. it is never good.
