How to act like an adult (for newbies)

New to adulthood? Here are some tips on how to blend in!

  • Always sound surprised when you're asked for ID; because of course, you havent been asked for your ID for years!
  • A part time job is essential for all responsible, self sufficient adults... having disposable income is what it's all about for those spontanious purchases.
  • Having aspirations and being confident to tell people your game plan of acheivement when they ask "So, what are you doing with that qualification?" will only make them respect you more. It also can be used as a progressive conversation starter for any awkward family reunions for years to come.

  • Take up yoga. Not an essential but it lowers stress levels and sounds cool as a hobby.
  • Be savy and smart. Think outside the box, even if it's just with certain aspects of life, like fashion or your daily schedule, it can then teach you to transfer it into other parts of your lifestyle, especially your job.
  • A charming and charismatic speaker at a public event is always a pleasure to be around, if you learn how to do this now it will help you in your confidence.
  • Being confident will help you in networking events and job interviews where first impressions always count.
  • Make the most of being legal. You're not always going to have the energy to go out with a hangover linering from the previous night, make the most of it!
  • Be more mature, use critiscism by taking it on the chin, use it as an experience to improve performance in the future, not an insult to your work.
  • Always look put together, going hand in hand with first impressions... nobody will respect you if on a first meeting you have a birds nest and sweatpants!
  • Keep organised, it will make life so much easier.
  • Most importantly...Keep Calm and Stay Sassy
